Outer Banks: Day Four

My favorite place to be is at the beach. Growing up we vacationed at my grandmothers beach house in Oregon every summer. Those memories are some of my favorite and most vivid childhood memories. Most of our married life Stephen and I have lived close to the beach. There is something so refreshing about spending time at the beach. It is like an instant restart and boost to keep going. I will miss living by the ocean so much when we leave North Carolina.
Our last morning at the outer banks papa and I woke up just before 5:00 so we could try and catch the sunrise at the boardwalk. It was supposed to be a nice sunrise but the sun only came out from the clouds for a few minutes so we didn't see much. It was still a nice morning and walk on the beach and we were able to watch some dolphins. We actually saw the dolphins just about every morning.
We checked out of our airbnb at ten and drove around for an hour waiting for our lunch spot to open. We had lunch at the Kill Devil Hills concrete place and it was pretty good. Before heading home we drove to the Nags Head Preserve and walked around for a little while. The swamp there was really neat and seemed like the perfect location for a csi episode.
Everett slept almost the entire drive home. It was an exhausting week for him. It was such a fun, tiring, relaxing week for us all. One we won't forget and hopefully will continue doing every year.
