What a wild and busy couple months it has been. We had so many fun trips planned this spring and now just like that they have all come and gone. May was an emotional month for me. Everett turned four and Nathan has been one for a little over a month. I had an emotional couple days realizing how quickly my babies are growing up. I love them so much and as hard as this season of life is I am really loving it. I don't love the loneliness and sense of lost self it can sometimes bring and I don't love the frustrations it brings out of me. What I do love is the slowness of it. I love the sense of having nothing going on but raising tiny little humans. I love the few date nights that Stephen and I get without the kids. I love my girls nights. I love watching shows with Stephen after the kids go to bed every night. I love this sometimes painfully slow season of life so much.
Mother’s Day was fun. Stephen made me breakfast in bed the day before which was really sweet and I got to dress the boys up in matching church clothes. That is something I think every mom looks forward to at some point with their kids.
Stephen and I have both started going to the gym regularly. It is really fun when we get to go together. He really pushes me to be better and stronger. I love seeing how much he believes in me and pushes me to be stronger.
Everett finished his first year of preschool. I am so proud of how well he did this year. I took pictures of all of his artwork throughout the year and am making it into a fun book. It was really amazing seeing the progress he made from learning how to trace at the start of the year to now at the end. He had such a special class and Mrs. Erica was such an amazing teacher. My favorite thing that he learned from the year was memorizing the pledge of allegiance. I am so proud of him. Everett is very quickly learning how to push any and all of my buttons but he is still just a little child and has such a good heart.
