It is hard to believe that Everett is already two! I remember when he was just a newborn and Stephen and I talked about what it would be like when he's a toddler. Now he is such a toddler in every way. He is the coolest kid and also kind of a naughty little boy at times.
I had huge plans for his birthday. I wanted to make him a cake, have a small party on his birthday and then a huge party when my parents came to visit a week later. The only thing I wanted to get him for his birthday was a balance bike. I had it all planned out how I would surprise him with it when he woke up. Then time happened and second guessing happened and I didn't buy him one. I am happy with what we got him and he loves his slide and water table. But it was rainy all day on his birthday so I had to decorate the front room instead of outside. He woke up extra early, cranky, and sick.
It was a major bummer. He had a rash all over and had had a fever a few days earlier. We called his pediatrician and she said he had roseola. He felt miserable and just awful his whole birthday. I felt like a complete failure not being able to make his day special. Even our stove was out so I couldn't make him his favorite dinner spaghetti or a birthday cake.
With all that being said I did get to rock him during his nap which is always a treasured time at this age because it rarely happens. I sure do love him so much!
