Everett: Summer

July
"This is one wild day" on our way home from fireworks at a friends house and a fire truck and ambulance drove by.
I was getting lunch ready for the beach and you said "well let me know if you need any help."
Wanting band aids on all of your mosquito bites and lately that is a lot of mosquito bites.
When something in your show makes you laugh, I love that you will come out of your room to tell me all about it.
I have started leaving your Legos in your room during resting time and you will play with them some days for two hours before getting bored of them. You are so creative with them.

August
You have started making your own dinosaur books. They are so fun. There are always either crayons, parts of dinosaur books, dinosaur coloring books, or dinosaur puzzles out that you are using for inspiration on your next dinosaur project.
I love how creative you are. When I ask you to draw something that I would think is very simple and quick to draw, you surprise me by taking it five steps further and draw something so detailed.
I have been resting in bed a lot lately during Nathans nap and some days you will come in with your art and draw with me in bed.
You have loved dad printing out dinosaurs for you to color. You started loving it so much that I ordered some dinosaur coloring books to save on our ink.
We met your kindergarten teacher and she is so sweet and nice. As of now you are doing one week in school and one week virtual.
Your first day of school we all went with to drop you off. We weren't able to walk you into class which was harder on me than you. You got right out of the car and walked right into school like such a brave big boy. Your favorite thing about your first day of school was riding the school bus home. You hopped off the bus so fast and gave me the biggest hug.
You have been baking cakes from scratch. The last one you made was an apple vanilla cake. It was so good. I let you decide how much flour and sugar to put in. I help you with one egg. Then I help you put in a little salt, vanilla, and baking powder. You wanted it to be apple so we put some grated apple in it. I suggested a little bit of cinnamon. When it was baked and cooled off you topped it with vanilla frosting. It tasted so good. I think you would really enjoy baking classes.

First day of kindergarten:
Five years old and wants to be a paleontologist when you grow up.
Favorites:
Food - Pancakes, hot dogs, watermelon.
Color - Changes every day. You love all colors.
TV Show - Paw patrol, dinosaur train, dino dan.
Toys - Anything dinosaur, legos, drawing/coloring.
Your teacher for kindergarten is Mrs. Powers! Your virtual teacher is Mrs. Purvis. You go to Ridgewood Elementary and are a shark.
Daddy gave you a very sweet fathers blessing the morning of your first day.
After your first day of school that night you came up to me whispering that you wanted to draw a picture for Mrs. Powers and that you wanted to write I love you on it. It was so sweet.

September
You love making up rhymes and songs with rhymes in them. One day you were singing a song, "Hello hello little duck, he had a friend he liked to...quack."
I love when you make random friends at the playground, especially when you talk dinosaur talk with them.
When school changed to full time face to face we were very excited but also extremely disappointed that it meant you no longer had Mrs. Powers as your teacher. We ended up really liking your new teacher too. After only two weeks with Mrs. Piner you switched back to Mrs. Powers class anyway. Because of covid school has been a bit confusing and a challenge to get used to but you are thriving and loving it.
The first day you came home from school after baby sister was born you looked so much older and mature. I am so proud of the boy you are.
You had an instant special bond with Emily when she was born.
You got satisfactory in every category at school on your first assessment.
It is fun watching your interest in writing and reading grow so that you can write dinosaur names on your own. You have only been in school for two weeks and showing so much love for learning.
