Week One
At your three day pediatrician appointment: 7 pounds 3 ounces 45%.
You were instantly a pro at nursing.
By night five you were sleeping through the night except for me waking you every three hours to nurse.
Emily you came to us straight from heaven and have such a special spirit surrounding you.
We are all completely obsessed with you.
Nathan thinks you are a boy. "He's opening his eyes" "He's so coot" "His hair is black"
Everett adores you. He loves singing to you, holding you, and kissing you.
Dad is already convinced you will have blue eyes like his.
You have so much thick dark hair. We love it.
You like sleeping in a swaddle that keeps your arms up by your face.
You exploded poop into my hands one night during a diaper change.
We had our first family of five outing to the park when you were 7 days old on your due date.
Week Two
Smiles!
You enjoy cluster nursing in the evenings.
I took some pictures of you in a newborn dress that I wore as a baby.
At your two week appointment you were officially above birth weight weighing 7 pounds 14 ounces. You also pooped everywhere when the nurse took your temperature rectally.
You get upset when you have a dirty diaper.
I finally clipped your finger nails and let your hands be free. They were starting to stink.
On your two week birthday I only had to wake up once in the night to nurse you.
Week Three
Smiling so much.
Your squeaky newborn sounds are so heavenly to listen to.
You love watching Everett.
Week Four
I pulled out our play mat that both of your brothers used and you really enjoy looking at all of the hanging animals and colors.
I think you are looking like daddy more every day.
You are so beautiful when you are sleeping. I could watch you all day long and that honestly is what I have been doing since you've been born. Your random sleeping smiles melt me.
Your hair has become so wild. I love it so much.
One month check up: Weight 9 pounds 3 ounces 47%. Height 22 inches 77%. Head 14.75 inches 77%.
Your dad and I talked often about the day we would have our third baby. How we would be on walks as a family with you in the stroller and your brothers on their scooters in the distance. We can honestly say now that you are here you have more than exceeded what our expectations were. You are such a perfect baby in every way. We love your special spirit and the happiness you have brought us all during an especially challenging year.
