Easter

Coloring Easter Eggs
This was Everett's first year coloring Easter eggs. His newest thing is always bringing a chair into the kitchen and helping cook dinner or really anything I am cooking. So when he saw me getting the eggs ready he grabbed a chair and helped himself to the counter. He had a lot of fun naming the different colors and then gluing eyes and cotton balls on them after they dried. The whole thing was actually not messy at all until the very end when I brought my bowl of cereal over and Everett grabbed the bowl dumping it all over the counter and floor. I'd say overall it was a lot of fun though.

Story Time
For story time this week they had a special Easter egg hunt for the kids. We didn't know about it beforehand so we used our car garbage as an egg basket. It worked perfectly. Everett was lucky enough to get a couple eggs. All of the older kids took most of them. We walked around after and Everett gave away a couple of his eggs to kids that didn't get one. One thing I love so much about Everett is his kind heart and his willingness to always share with other kids.

Ward Easter Party
Everett had a great time at the ward Easter party. First thing he did when we got there was run up to the food table and grabbed a chocolate donut. The Elders were in charge of the pillow case races and bean bag toss game. Everett had a lot of fun playing with them. He looks up to them so much. Last year the Easter bunny was a huge hit. Everett thought he was hilarious. This year he wanted nothing to do with him and cried when we made the bunny hold him for a picture. Finding Easter eggs was the highlight. Everett knew what to do right away. Once he realized they were all different colors he only went the for yellow and green eggs. It was pretty adorable. Afterwards we walked on the temple grounds and enjoyed all of the spring flowers and warm weather. It was a perfect fun morning.

Easter Sunday
Easter was so wonderful this year. I love spring and I think part of the reason why is conference weekend and then Easter. We have so much time to focus on our Savior and the gospel and remember what is most important in this life. I love my family so much and am so thankful to have them. I am also so thankful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In church today we were talking a little about our testimonies and I have often thought about what my life would be like without the church. I don't have an emptiness or unsurety about life because I have always been a member of this church and am so grateful for it and know why I am here.
This was our last week in our ward. It is a very bitter sweet feeling leaving a place we called home for two years. Everett was really adorable in church today sharing his toys with some of his friends. I just love his sweet heart and spirit. He is such a good kid. I'm too hard on him sometimes and need to be better. Patience is a hard thing to master.
