Everett: 12 Months

It is hard to believe that you are 1! What a wonderful year it has been trying to figure out parenting and taking care of a new baby. We couldn't have asked for a better little boy. Everett you really are perfect in every way and we love you so very much. Your personality continues to develop daily and it has been so fun watching you grow from a little newborn into this tall little boy.
12 month check up:
You had your little finger pricked and it was so sad. You kept looking at it after and then tried to eat the band aid. You cried during your shots but as soon as they were done you were fine. You even waved for the first time ever to the nurse on our way out.
Height is 31 inches at 90%.
Weight is 22 lbs at 60%.
Just a tall skinny boy.
This month the drool monster came back for about a week and we were surprised when no new teeth showed up.
You love playing peek a boo.
While mom and dad were on their anniversary trip you started clapping and saying dada and gaga.
It is adorable how you clap along to if your happy and you know it.
While Grandpa was here he sneezed once really loud and it scared you so much you just started screaming. After that for the next couple days every time you sneezed you would yell woahhh.
It is my favorite when you whisper dada and gaga.
One of my favorite memories from this month was when I was rocking you and you turned and looked me in the eyes as if to make sure it really was mom holding you.
You've started doing the pouty lip sometimes before you start crying.
I showed you the talking kitty app on my ipad and you started crying when it talked to you.
Mini tantrums are pretty common now. At first you would just throw yourself on the ground face first with your hands to your side crying. Now that you have realized that hurts you slowly fall to the ground and don't throw tantrums on the hard wood floor anymore.
When I try and take something out of your hand that you don't want me to take you will hurry and throw it on the floor as if to say if I can't have it no one can.
It is amazing that after one year you have hardly been sick. No ear infections, fevers, or even a bum rash. Just a few minor colds.
Your eyes started out blue when you were born, then lightened to a really pretty blue, and now have changed once again to a very pretty hazel that sometimes looks green or grey.
You are wearing size 4 diapers and wearing 12 and 18 month clothes.
You aren't walking yet but that doesn't stop you from getting anywhere you want to go. You can open doors now and can climb onto the couch.
We bought you your first pair of shoes that weren't moccasins and they are adorable on you.
It is so sweet how you cuddle with blankets, pillows, and your stuffed animals. We call it the so soft game.
Any time you see yourself in a mirror or a toy you give yourself kisses.
Since you love moms smoothies so much I have started making you your own with carrot, peas, spinach, blueberries or strawberries, oatmeal, milk, and acai juice. You love them!
The day after your birthday we got rid of bottles cold turkey and it is not going very well so far. I am feeling some major mommy guilt not giving them to you anymore.
