Everett's birthday party was in Kaysville so most of the family could be there. It was a lot of fun being surrounded by family who loves him very much. Grandma and grandpa Peirce and Carman were there along with Everett's aunts, uncle, and cousins on Stephens side. We had hamburgers on the grill, and a root beer keg to drink. Everett had prunes, apple sauce, peanut butter, blue berries, and milk.
Everyone got him a birthday present which meant so much to Everett and us. After some debate on whether or not to buy a cake I decided to make one and it turned out pretty adorable. The weather was sunny and 75.
One of my favorite things from the party was having everyone write a special birthday message for Everett in the happy birthday to you book by Dr. Seuss.
Uncle Colby's message was to perfect not to share. This is what he had to say about Everett's very special day.
Everett,
This is the day that you turned one
I'm sure that you had lots of fun
Though I doubt you remember most of it.
I'll tell you just a little bit,
Your mom and dad still made you nap
You wore a blue braves baseball cap
Your mom made you a special cake
Of which you barely did partake.
Four times we had to sing to you
So each camera could film a different view.
Lots of gifts you did unwrap
All around you we did clap
Before too long the time was spent
A bath and off to bed you went
You won't remember much of this day
But one thing you'll know, I have to say,
Is whether you turn one or twenty-two
You'll be surrounded by all of us who do love you!
