The fourth of July was fantastic in every way! We started the morning with a quick trip to the grocery store and got donuts. Got jealous of everyone running the 5k on our way home from the store while eating our donuts. The Kaysville parade was epic. Everett got his first piece of candy that mom and dad ate. He didn't mind. We caught a frisbee, got a free flag, caught necklaces, and got all the candy we wanted. By far my favorite thing ever was Everett experiencing an apple for the first time. He just stood there munching on it forever while juice ran down his chin and clothes. Then he held on to it for quite a while. I can't stand just how cute he is sometimes.
After the parade was the city water fight which is the coolest water fight ever! We had our own awesome water fight later in the backyard so we only watched everyone get soaked after the parade. Everett fell off the bed for the first time ever while upstairs so Stephen rocked him and they both fell asleep before the parade. After the parade Stephen studied during Everett's nap and the rest of the family all went to the BFG. It was such an adorable movie.
We had an amazing view for the fireworks. It was the perfect evening. The weather couldn't have been better. As it got darker we started seeing more and more fireworks in every direction we looked. It really was magical. Stephen and I had to leave shortly after the fireworks got started for the airport to catch Stephen's midnight flight back to Atlanta. We did stop to watch the finale though.
The fourth of July has always been Stephen's favorite holiday. After this year I have to admit that it is now my favorite as well. I love this country so much and am so grateful we get a day to celebrate it and the good in life. Hopefully this was just the first of many more amazing fourths!
