Oatmeal Firsts 9/17/2015

Stephen and I decided to give Everett solids at four and a half months instead of originally waiting until 5 or 6 months. Every time we would be eating something Everett would just look at us like he wanted some too. Trying oatmeal for the first time was so much fun! I made it really watery so it would be easier to eat but Everett actually prefers his oatmeal thick. It was a bit of a process figureing out just how to eat with a spoon. Stephen and I started out with Everett in his bumbo seat that we had just gotten free from a friend in our ward. After a few bites I tried holding Everett to make it easier. Then after just one more bite we put him back in the bumbo. We eventually ended up with me holding Everett's hands and Stephen holding his head while feeding him. It was a messy fun time! Everett loves eating solids. He likes to look down while he eats so his food falls right out of his mouth but he still loves it. He's like a baby bird just keeping his mouth open for more. We started carrots a week and a half after the oatmeal. We do two days of carrots, then one day of oatmeal until he has tried the new food for a good week or two. On the days its carrots after his first bite he gets a disgusted face that it isn't oatmeal day but he will still eat it all. Next we are going to try squash. We will see how he likes it. This boy is growing to fast!
