Everett: Three Years Old

Things I wrote down between the age of 2 1/2 and 3 years old.
Whispering with daddy I love you.
Singing the cars song with daddy at bedtime. Dad makes up new words for it every night.
While reading stories you will act like you are reading it too.
While playing upstairs one day I saw that you had lined up all of the alphabet puzzle pieces, incorrectly but still so adorable.
You love going to both mommy gym and play gym.
Dad and I couldn't stop laughing over this one. I am pretty sure we were crying laughing. We had a huge Christmas box that we hadn't thrown out yet and you decided to hide in it. Dad got some m&m's and put one on the floor just outside the box. And just like ET you would move your little fingers out of the box just far enough to grab it slowly and bring it back in. It was so perfect of a moment that we didn't even need to get it on camera. That moment is just for our memory.
When I ask if you are poopy. "No, I just farted."
Singing the abc song in the back seat is a favorite. You will sing it over and over again.
For Christmas you got a new big boy bed that dad made you.
You love whispering with dad.
For a little while we tried making pooping in the potty fun by laughing at the splashes.
You love learning letters and practicing what they are.
You say your H's with a S sound.
You like to blow in my belly button when I say to kiss baby brother.
Obsessed with the movie cars.
One night you sang all of I am a child of God to dad. We didn't know you had it memorized. It is the song I have been singing to you every night and nap time since you were a tiny baby.
Started singing yourself to sleep for a couple weeks.
One time you were on the potty and dad was trying to get you to go. He said come on focus. And you replied "Speed, I am speed." It's a cars quote. It was pretty hilarious.
You think bikes are motorcycles.
You officially learned all of the letters.
Favorite day of the week is church day because you get to go to nursery.
You still like to help cook dinner and love washing the dishes after.
You know everyone's name in the movie cars.
Dad is teaching you to count to ten when you are frustrated. Its adorable.
"Ok, focus, speed, I am speed. Go." What you say before we race.
We went to play with Jonathon one day and he wasn't home so you said "Darnit."
The kissy monster is the best.
Sometimes I find dandelions in your pocket. It is the cutest.
I love finding you in your rocker with a blanket on reading a story after your nap.
Jonathon is your best friend. Besides dad of course.
Your favorite thing to do with dad is wrestle.
You have become quite attached to mom these last few weeks before baby brother comes.
You learned that moms name is Jen.
Both mom and dad took you on one on one dates to cracker barrel.
I asked you one day if you were picking your nose. You replied, "No I'm fixing it."
You love sharing your toys with Nathan.
You call baby Nathan, "Nathan my brother."
On Easter before picking up all of the eggs for yourself you made sure that mom, dad, nana, and baby Nathan each had one.
You pay such close attention to details and rarely forget anything.
While reading cars you said "interesting."
You like to make sure Nathan always has one of your cars.
You say "Dare" for the word There.
I love reading stories with you because any time a castle comes up in one of the pictures you either call it the temple or the church. And when a house shows up you will sometimes call it the temple. I hope you can always think of our home as a sacred and safe place like the temple is.
At barnes and noble you made sure every kid had a train to play with.
Nathan was crying one time and you said "It's alright little one."
You pulled your pants and underwear down one day and I asked what was wrong because you were itching your butt. You said "I have ants in my butt."
You like to find all of our floss in the house, pull it all out, and pretend to be walking a dog.
A few times you called me Jen instead of mom.
Your pretend play has become so fun to watch.
You thought your orange muffin was spicy.
Stephen and I call each other babe so sometimes you will call me babe. One morning I woke up to you yelling for "babe" to come get you.
I love how at the park you will always go and find friends to play with.
Whenever you don't feel well you always want dad first. You two have a very special bond.
You say yes to everything as an immediate response. So we usually have to ask you things a couple times until you have really listened to the question and can answer how you really feel.
Starting to ask "what's that" about everything. Before I tell you I always ask what you think it is first.
Your favorite shows for a little while were Stinky and Dirty, Youtube shows of people playing with cars (until we stopped letting you watch Youtube), Blippi, and Daniel Tiger.
Favorite books right now are Thomas, Mickey, goodnight goodnight construction site, and chicka chicka 123.
When asked what your favorite food is you replied strawberries.
You say "Bamoon" for the word balloon.
Sometimes when I sing along to a song you tell me not to.
You will add the word "either" to most things you say.

I love reading back through these lists of moments I thought were worth remembering. You have such a good heart and are such a sweet little boy. You are also hilarious and make me either laugh or cry every day. I love you so much!
