This was Everett's first camping trip and it was so much fun. Payson lakes couldn't be a more perfect place to enjoy the outdoors, get away from the world, slow down a bit and just enjoy each other. It really is so beautiful! Setting up camp as strange as it sounds was my favorite part of our camping trip. Stephen and I set up our tent together while Everett played with the poles and crawled all over the ground getting completely filthy and sticky from sap. For me it was one of those moments when you remember just how amazing and beautiful life is and in that moment I just stopped and soaked it all in. Those are the moments that get me through the tough times.
We probably walked around the lake ten times. Saw a deer in our campsite and then along the trail during one of our walks. Mom and baby ducks were everywhere. The only bear that visited our campsite was the one Everett brought. I had so much anxiety that Everett wouldn't sleep and get cold but he slept amazing both nights in his puffy snow suit and stayed so warm. He even got a couple naps in during the day. Stephen and I were in charge of dinner one night and made dutch oven chicken and potatoes and it was yummy. If it hadn't been chilly when we took the canoe out on the lake I would have thrown Everett in the water. He wanted to be in the water so badly. The phase ten tournament was epic like always and Marilee won the patch this year. Once again camping with Stephens family was a complete success! Hopefully we can do it again next year.
