The first time you saw stairs there was no hesitation, you climbed right up to the top and continued on your way exploring the rest of grandmas house.
You enjoy crawling downstairs but I don't like it because you go head first.
How we know if you don't want to be held anymore is easy. You either go limp, try and crawl up over our shoulders, or just fall forward really fast. Or if you are holding something you will throw it so you have to get down to go get it.
This month you started taking toys out of their containers and putting them back in and repeating it over and over. (Pretty sure you learned that one from dad because he has been teaching you that at the end of bath time you help put your toys to sleep).
I never knew just how amazing hearing the word mom would be until you started saying it a few days ago.
First steps! It has been so much fun watching you figure out walking. Since learning how to start walking you now have a funny crab crawl that is half crawling half walking.
Sometimes when you fall down after trying to walk you will slap the ground a few times. It's too cute. And when you walk a few steps really well you will sometimes clap at how good you did.

You love to play in all of the cupboards and drawers at Grandma Peirce's house.
One thing you just started doing is wanting to be held any time and every time I'm making food for you. It is pretty sweet how much you want to be held and I just love when you try and climb up my body, but the crying baby on the floor at my feet when I need both hands isn't so fun.
It is the sweetest when you crawl over to give me a cuddle.

When you are done eating you start to throw all of your food on the floor one tiny piece at a time.
You also stuff your mouth so fast with food that your cheeks get super full.
Blueberries are your favorite and you also like your morning pancake. Fruits are usually the first thing to be eaten on your tray. Then breads/cheese/pasta and last of all are the veggies.
Bottles have been gone for a month now and it is wonderful. It took almost a week for you to like cold whole milk in a sippy but now you are a really good drinker.
Putting tiny pieces of food in the drinking part of your sippy is fun to watch. You get so focused sometimes.
You out grew your car seat so we upgraded and so far you don't seem to really like it. Driving home from Kaysville you woke up a half hour from home and wouldn't stop crying. I reached my hand to touch you the best I could while driving and you held my hand for the rest of the drive home. Favorite mom moment.
The sounds you have started making are ga, ma, da, and ha sounds.
One day mom made the mistake of tricking you with some yogurt you had already decided you were done with and tantrum Everett appeared. You started screaming, crying, tears running down your face, snot going everywhere, drooling, and laying your head down for a couple minutes. You wouldn't even look at me. It was so surprising and actually really funny. I think you were just a bit dramatic.
I go back and forth on fighting you with two naps a day. For a week I let you just have one a day and you just get so overtired. So for now I am going to continue the fight for two naps a day.
You love to watch the other kids at the playground and especially love when they play with you.

You started really waving this month. You've only done it a couple times but gosh it is adorable.
Changing your clothes and especially diaper changes are a nightmare. If there is one thing you can't stand it is being forced to lay on your back for a bum change. I have to bribe you with off limit items and hurry as fast as I can before you up and decide you are done.
It was hard having dad away the last couple of weeks but you get so happy every night when we face chat with him.
A week after we got to Utah you got a bad cold that lingered for way to long and then mom got it. The bonus from it was getting to rock you for nap time.
We got a swing for you that we hung from grandmother willow in the backyard to enjoy when we take trips to Utah.
If you can reach a door handle you can get it open.

It is amazing all of the changes that have happened in just one month. You turned one and it really is like you are a toddler now. You have such a love for learning. Watching you imitate stirring something in a bowl was to perfect and watching you bang the drums with your hands is so fun. Learning from your grandpas is your favorite. Grandpa Carman has shown you how to make an amazing hamburger and he also showed you how the hose in the yard works. Then the next day while we were at aunt Karyns house you saw her hose outside and reached up to try and turn it on. I am so amazed at how smart you are. I just know I am going to continue loving these life stages of yours more and more!
