To celebrate our 3 years of marriage Stephen and I went to Destin, Florida. It was our first time leaving Everett and he had a great time with grandma and grandpa Carman. This vacation was also for Stephen, to celebrate him finishing third year of medical school!
Destin is located on Florida's emerald coast, and is known for its white beaches and emerald green waters. We couldn't have picked a more perfect place to relax for four days. Here are our highlights from the vacation -
Visiting a bonsai tree store on the drive there.
Eating our traditional vacation nachos, then thinking afterwards we don't really like that tradition anymore.
Eating at McGuire's Irish pub 3 times. (There are more than one million signed dollar bills hanging from the ceilings and walls of the pub. Our favorite on the menu by far was the filet mignon)
First time trying gumbo. It was delicious.
Being a kid again playing frisbee, flying kites, and building sand castles.
We had one awesome kite and one dud kite.
Watching a dolphin play in the water while watching the sunset.
Taking a walk on the beach, enjoying the softest sand I've ever felt, then having our seafood lunch at Pompano Joe's.
Window shopping at the outlets.
Noticing that my freckles have come out of hiding from winter.
Song that played the most times on the trip - Huntin, Fishin, and Lovin every day by Luke Bryan.
Enjoying South Alabama beauty on the drive home.
