Happy Thanksgiving

Well Thanksgiving has come and gone. Just like that Stephen has one week and one day left of his 1st semester in Medical School! His last exam is tomorrow then his final is next Monday. We cannot wait for the break to come! It is hard to believe that semester 1 is coming to an end and that it is already December 1st. We have been living on the island for three and a half months.
Thanksgiving was really nice. Of course we missed our families like crazy but we were able to have a big turkey dinner with our Branch family. We all pitched in to have someone make the turkey's for us then all of us spouses brought a different side dish. All of the food turned out really good. It almost felt like an American thanksgiving dinner. Since thanksgiving isn't celebrated here on the island Stephen still had school and studied all day and I had to work. The prep school put on a fun Thanksgiving presentation for their parents so at lunch time we had a big thanksgiving Dominican lunch. Stephen and I went to that and the kids were super cute singing their thanksgiving song.
This week in church I taught the lesson in Relief Society. It was on the true meaning of Christmas. I was very nervous because I have never taught a lesson before. I think it went pretty well. I gave all of the sisters a Christmas scripture chain to read throughout December to remember Christ's birth. I am really excited to do it. Last Sunday Stephen and I decorated our house for Christmas! Stephen cut out snowflakes while I did the tree. I am so excited for Christmas this year. It is my favorite time of year and this year is going to be really special.

The view from where we had our Thanksgiving dinner.

Our thanksgiving Lunch

Jack and all the kids looked so cute in their turkey hats!

Black Friday in Dominica! Haha, Friday was the 4th semester sale
where students leaving the island sell what they don't want to take home.

My black Friday finds for the year.

Decorating for Christmas!

Stephen surprised me with flowers in my basket after work!

Finally saw an iguana somewhat up close.

Earlier in the week the faculty put on a spaghetti dinner for all the students.
We were able to watch the sunset together afterwards.

It was a beautiful sunset that night.
