North Georgia State Fair

So one of my new favorite things to do is go to the state fair! We didn't ride any of the rides and just walked around the whole time eating. It was fantastic! Everett loved the petting zoo and gave the giant sheep a big hug. There was live music and Stephen and I both got our dancing in with Everett.

Stephen ate a giant turkey leg and I got corn on the cob completely dripping in butter. Then we got two massive donuts and ice cream. Everett stayed healthy and ate an apple and banana. 

I just love that people watching and the most horrible food ever can be so entertaining and fun. I guess that is what going to the fair is all about and we loved it!

Helton Creek & Dukes Creek Falls

After picking apples we drove to Dahlonega for dinner. On the way we stopped and saw two waterfalls. Helton Creek Falls was just off the road down a little ways and it was beautiful. There were a few families and kids swimming around in the water so we let Everett join in on the fun. He loved it and its a good thing we had a change of clothes for him in the car. Everett probably would have stayed in the water all day if we let him. Hopefully we will get a chance to visit this fall again.
Dukes Creek Falls was about a half hour drive away and that one was a two mile hike. It was a skinny but really tall water fall. It was really fun to have a chance to use Everett's backpack carrier. He loves riding in it. We were a little bummed that the leaves hadn't started to change much but we will be back.

Mercier Orchards

This was my first time apple picking and it was so much fun! We drove to Blue Ridge Georgia and went to the famous Mercier Orchards. Oh my gosh the apples were so sweet and juicy! Everett wouldn't stop eating them. We picked ambrosia apples then bought a bag of topaze to make caramel apples with. We couldn't leave without getting a couple of fried apple pies which were amazing!
