Everett: Winter

January
Over Christmas break you learned how to write Peirce.
After fixing something that had broke you said "That's what boys do."
You say the sweetest things sometimes like when I said here comes Everett and you responded by saying "with surprise of love" as you gave me a big hug.
I said thank you for cleaning the toy room and you said "Yep! That's what big boys do."
As you are getting older I so badly want to teach you to always be kind to everyone, to be everyone's friend. It hurts so much to see kids playing alone. I pray that you will not be one of those lonely kids but even more I pray you will be one of the kids that shows kindness and love to everyone.
One day you wanted to create the puppet show from one of your favorite books, if you give a moose a muffin. We made sock puppets and the backdrop from the book to go with them.
You and dad playing in the fort in the front room hiding from aliens.
You ask almost every day when it is going to snow.
You ask all the time to have nana and papa come and take you to cracker barrel and to have grandma and grandpa come and plant a garden in the yard.
One night I asked you to go brush your teeth for bedtime and to my amazement I came in a few minutes later and you were finishing your teeth and getting ready for bed. I was very proud you listened.

February
You gave your first talk in primary at church. You weren't nervous and did such a good job.
You love sending letters in the mail to family. You always include a flower and picture you've drawn.
As you gave me a big hug one day you said "I love you! Always do what I want you to do." It was funny and kind of a sweet thing to say.
It is the sweetest when you walk Nathan to nursery all on your own on Sundays and then take yourself to primary.
I asked what you were looking at outside the kitchen window. Your reply "That tree. It is the biggest of life!"
Lately getting you to smile for pictures is the biggest challenge.
We finally had a snow day and you were so happy. Nana and papa were here to play with you and built the cutest snowman with you.
You wore your pajamas inside out one night because you thought it might help it snow.
You love waking up in the mornings and doing art.
I love when you draw a picture for Nathan and put it outside his bedroom door while he is napping.
I don't know where you learned it but the repeat everything I say game is one of your favorites. You especially like to do it when I'm upset at you.

March
Depending on who tucks you in bed each night you want either mom or dad to come in after and give you another hug and kiss. One night you asked dad to come in and kiss you goodnight after he was done putting Nathan to sleep. I said you'll probably already be asleep by the time he comes in but I'll have him come in anyway. Sure enough within a couple minutes you were already sound asleep. What Stephen said to me when he came back out of your room really stuck with me. He said when you have no worries there is no reason not to fall asleep right away. I don't know if that's why you fall asleep so quickly every night but I like to think that could be a big reason why. I hope you continue having no worries as long as possible.
One day you came up to me and said "I'm gonna go get fancy!" Then you put socks on your hands and underwear on your head. It was pretty hilarious.
"Happy Mrs kisses day." The first thing you said to me one morning when you woke up and came into my room.
Your latest obsession is dinosaurs. I was surprised when you suddenly found a love for them because you have never shown any interest at all in them before now. Watching dino Dan and dinosaur train has taught you the name and facts about so many dinosaurs. It is pretty incredible how much you learned about dinosaurs in such a small amount of time. I have loved this little obsession of yours.
You had the cutest little voice for a few days when you had a cold.
Going to the dentist was an awful experience. Hopefully next time will be a little better.
I love watching you change and grow and become so creative with everything you do. I love watching what you draw and how you create and build different things with your legos. You are such a smart little boy with a loving heart.

Nathan: Winter

January
You had a really rough three days when you were sick with a double ear infection. The cuddles and loves were endless.
I loved finding you in the laundry room using the kleenex one at a time.
Random hugs to daddy at the kitchen table. You always give the best hugs especially for him.

February
The way you say the word "yeah" just melts my heart every time.
Some words you are saying now. Hi, yeah, more, dada, mama, papa, bubbles, book, up, that, no, baby, bye, uh oh, that, tractor, bike.
You like to tap or hit us and then point to what you want.
Somehow you always know when we have food in our mouth or when we are headed to get some food and you always want some no matter what it is.
Becoming more and more obsessed with your sweet little lamby.
You got your first real haircut from dad.

March
You threw lamby right into the toilet while dad was peeing in it.
You know all of the paw patrol pups names. Paw patrol and little baby bum are your favorite shows.
I love it after dad gets you out of the tub and dries you off you come running out to me naked and so happy.
You like to say "that book" all day because you love having books read to you.
You started crying so much at bed time and nap time. It was some kind of regression that was not fun for anyone. I finally couldn't take it anymore and we did cry it out for two or three nights. I think the first night you cried for about two hours before falling asleep hanging over the side of your crib. After that first awful night it only took another day or two for you to fall back to sleep on your own without fussing at all.
When we read stories together at bedtime you first like to tuck lamby into your blanket so he is comfy.
You are starting to say more words like water and purple and yellow.
You love sticking your tongue out and I think I notice it so much because Everett never did.
At your two year check up: Weight 26 pounds 25%. Height 34 inches 47%
