February

February was a crazy busy fun month.
Last winter Stephen and I decided we needed a vacation to avoid the winter blues. So last June we booked our cruise for this February to get away from the cold for a little bit. We are so glad we didn't book it in March and would have had to cancel due to Covid 19.
Nana and Papa spent a week with us and watched the boys while we were on our cruise. North Carolina only gets one day of snow usually every winter and of course it came while we were gone cruising. The boys had so much fun playing in the snow with Nana and Papa. Everett couldn't stop talking about how badly he wanted it to snow. I was pretty bummed I didn't get to enjoy his excitement with him but Papa made it more fun for him than I would have. They built an awesome snowman together.
Stephen and I had a nice Valentines date together. He was so sweet and bought me a book to read on the cruise and got me flowers, candy, and a card.
On Valentines morning we made pink pancakes with pink eggs for breakfast. Everett had a really cute Valentines Day party at preschool.
We have bird nests on our front porch and a bird laid some eggs and had three babies.
Nathan got his first big boy haircut and suddenly looked like a little boy instead of a toddler.

Cruise

Stephen and I went on our very first cruise. Nana and Papa came to watch the boys so we could go alone. It was a four night Royal Caribbean cruise with one day in Cozumel. We were really impressed with so many things. With this being our first cruise we didn't know what to expect. The food was amazing. We ate in the dining room for almost every meal and just stopped by the buffet for snacks and extra dessert if we wanted some. Stephen got his nightly ice cream cone in the buffet. The ship was very clean and we loved having a balcony room.
In Cozumel we spent just about 15 minutes walking around until we found a taxi that took us to a little beach where we relaxed the rest of the day. Stephen did a little bit of snorkeling, we had lunch brought to us at our chairs, and the weather was perfect for reading and relaxing all day. On our way back to the ship we found some vanilla (in the glass bottle) which we were told by some dinner friends on the ship that was the most incredible vanilla we'd ever find. So far the vanilla has not been a disappointment.
Dressing up for the dining room was really fun. Everyone was very classy all of the time and we only shared our huge dining room table with one other couple from Canada that currently was living in the states to be closer to their grandchildren. There weren't too many kids on the ship which was awesome. We didn't go to many shows but didn't feel like we missed out on anything. We spent most of our days reading in the sun or shade, only stopping to take a nap in our room or go eat in the dining room. It was so relaxing and just what we needed!
My only complaint was being motion sick and morning sick the whole time and not being able to get into the hot tub. I felt pretty miserable the whole time but it was manageable until the last day on the ship when the weather was bad and the ship was just rocking back and forth constantly.

January

The only things about January that I wrote down to remember was Everett and dad going to the movie frozen while Nathan and I had a little date at smashed waffle.
The boys really love the cookie jar grandma got me for Christmas. They especially enjoy sneaking the cookies.
