Outer Banks Day Two

Day two was quite a bit warmer but not sunny. There was a huge storm coming that afternoon so we made all of our plans for the morning. Stephen and I went and picked up two dozen duck donuts for breakfast for everyone. They were so yummy. Stephen's family headed to a lighthouse while we stayed home for Nathan to have a morning nap. It was very relaxing spending the morning inside. The weather still was decent when Nathan woke up so we headed to Bodie lighthouse. I could have spent all day there. It is by far my favorite lighthouse I've seen, mostly because of the location. We timed visiting it just right because as we were heading back to the car it starting pouring. We had packed a sack lunch and wanted to eat it somewhere on the beach. With the rain we decided to just back the car up against the sand, climbed into the back, and had a little picnic in the car while watching the rain. The afternoon was spent hanging out inside. It was really fun listening to the rain and wind. Dinner that night was at a fun restaurant just a few houses over from our air bnb.

Outer Banks Day One

While Stephen's family was in town we took them to the Outer Banks for two nights. It was so much fun! Day one we packed up that morning and headed out. Everett did amazing on the drive. He read books the entire time and Nathan took a nice nap. That first day was freezing and windy. We went to the Wrights brothers museum first. Nathan and I stayed inside the whole time to avoid the wind and cold. Stephen took Everett to the top of the hill and froze the whole time. We stayed in an airbnb across the street from the beach. Everett's favorite part about the house was the pirates ship (loft) upstairs. It was the perfect little hangout for pretend play. Everett had the best time playing pirates with everyone. Everett got a free hat at dinner too. He seriously loves that hat so much and still wears it often.

Peirce Visit

We had such a fun week having Stephen's parents and sister in town. This was the first time they have seen our home in North Carolina. We loved showing them our house, where Stephen works, and the little town that is Greenville. Everett had so much fun playing and reading stories every day they were here. Probably my favorite day was our yard work day. Everett enjoyed it too, working with Grandpa in the backyard, and helping with anything and everything he could. Our yard is looking so beautiful! Another fun afternoon was going to the waterfront in Washington. Everett picked green ice cream and Nathan couldn't stop eating Stephens. Our favorite dinner was at Sam Jones BBQ. Nathan was exhausted and I've never seen Everett eat so much food in my life.
