Fourth of July

For it being one of my favorite holidays I am going to be honest and say I didn't super love the fourth of July this year. There were definitely parts that I loved. Like Everett doing sparklers. He loved it so much that now every time he sees the lighter he says fireworks and wants us to light some. Also we had a really fun church breakfast the morning of the 4th at a friends house. But I didn't get the patriotic love and feel that I normally do each year. Maybe because being home in Utah last year was the best fourth of July I've ever had. And being here this year just didn't feel like home. Plus we didn't even celebrate on the 4th because it rained all day and Stephen was working. But we did get one night of fireworks in on the 3rd. They were a little pathetic but fun to get out and see. Next year I am hoping for some beach fireworks somewhere and lower expectations to have a good time.

June

What can I say about June. It was our last free month before residency started. We took advantage of our time as a family.
We went to the beach a lot and continued putting together the house. I have really been taking my time on deciding how to decorate mostly because I am just not good at it and second I just don't want to rush and end up not liking what we do. We did paint Everett's room and it is so fun! I love decorating his room like a big boy instead of a baby room. He still has a crib but we don't have plans to move him to a big boy bed until the beginning of next year. As long as he has no desire to climb out of his crib he is staying in it.
Stephen and I went to the PM&R residency graduation. It was a lot of fun meeting all of the residents in his program. It will be a fun event to go to every year and look back on the previous year as we move forward to his own graduation day.
I had a really fun lipsense training that I drove four hours to there and back. I got to meet my crown princess and she is the first or second top seller in the entire Senegence company. It was pretty inspiring listening to her and others experience with Senegence.
We planted a crape myrtle tree in the yard and I love it! I'm not quite sure what to plant around it still but the tree is so cute. We also got an indoor tree for the front room. I would love to have a lot of plants in our house and love that we are starting to get around to doing it.

Father's Day and My 29th Birthday

What I love about the month of June is that of course I get to celebrate my birthday and Stephen gets to celebrate Father's Day. Everett made Stephen a cute heart thumbprint in nursery which was pretty adorable. Besides that Father's Day was pretty low key with a nice dinner and presents. Everett sure loves his daddy and I am so grateful we have a day once a year set aside just for him!
My original plan was to get Stephen a grill for Father's Day but a few days before he told me not to because we wouldn't use it much in the next year and it is to expensive. Little did I know he had planned a huge day for my birthday and our grill money went to me instead. Stephen definitely wins the husband of the year award because he spoiled me like crazy for my birthday! He let me sleep in and bought me the prettiest bouquet of sunflowers. Like seriously the prettiest. While he fed Everett lunch and got him down for a nap I took a nice long bath. Then he told me to get ready. I assumed he had planned a lunch for us during nap time but after I got ready he told me to go and that everything was in the car ready for me.
He had put together 6 envelopes explaining my plans for the day. I could only read one letter at a time and it would tell me where to go. He even made a little lunch me on the front seat. My first stop was a manicure/pedicure! It was pretty fantastic. My second stop was a facial at this really nice spa. It was my first facial and it was pretty amazing. Third stop was at my favorite donut store. Fourth stop was a free spray tan that we had a coupon for. I'm not going to lie getting a spray tan is pretty awesome. My next stop was at the local farmers market I had been wanting to see and then note six said to be home in time to give Everett a kiss goodnight before heading to dinner.
We went to a really tasty Indian place. Then came home to my birthday cake. It was such a perfect birthday. I don't know how I got so lucky with Stephen. He is a pretty fantastic husband and father!
