The state fair to a child is pure and complete excitement and happiness, if you are tall enough to ride on the rides. But really seeing my children laugh and smile brings me so much joy and happiness. Sometimes I wonder why we parents put ourselves through some of the things we do for our children. But seeing them smile and knowing how happy they are makes it all worth it. I love my two little squishes so much.
Everett talks about the first time we took him to the state fair so much that we couldn't miss taking him again this year. We learned a couple things from last year and bought Everett an unlimited wristband for the rides. He was so giddy and excited about the roller coaster that his whole body would shake.
Nathan got upset a lot that he wasn't big enough to ride everything Everett could. He was tall enough to ride the carousel and we rode it a lot. The man operating it must have thought we all had unlimited wristbands because he kept letting us ride it without asking for more tickets even when we would offer him more.
At the end of the day Everett's favorite part was the cotton candy that was almost as tall as Nathan and the roller coaster.
Hopefully next year we have better luck with parking. Instead of taking the buses back to the car we decided the two mile walk in the dark would be a good idea after being on our feet walking around all day. It was actually pretty fun and we even ended up running some of it. We do crazy dumb things like that sometimes and that's why I love our life so much!
