Nathan: Week Four

Week Four

You are a big boy now and sleep in your own room. Still in your rock n play.
I just love your hair after a bath. It's so curly and fun to play with.
First big spit up on mom.
You've been on some medicine from the pediatrician for possible acid reflux for about a week now and we are noticing huge improvements. You never act in pain or gassy anymore.
Pacifiers didn't last long which I am fine with. You do love searching for your thumb and like to suck on your fist.
I feel like I am starting to always smell like spit up now.
I was in a rush to get dinner done one night and you just wanted to be held so I wrapped you up in the solly wrap and you had a massive blow out. I'm pretty sure dinner was late or just didn't happen that night.
You are still our perfect happy beautiful baby boy that we just can't get enough of.

Nathan: Week Three

Week Three

You gained an entire pound in one week!
You have started spitting up a little bit.
Everett still loves you so much and sang to you rain rain go away and ended it with you and him playing outside together.
The second child syndrome is beginning. Instead of a clean sleeper every night I just smell it first to make sure it wasn't too dirty to sleep in.
We also waited two and a half weeks to give you your first bath. You loved every second of it. Pure contentment.
We found a dollar in dads pants while doing laundry and Everett got to have it for helping. He decided to give it to you.
You are starting to get pretty chunky which has been so much fun since Everett was never chunky.
Officially outgrown newborn clothes and diapers.
The hair grabbing has begun. Any chance you get you have a tight baby grip on my hair.
Your belly button looks just like a little cinnamon roll just like daddy's.

Nathan: Week Two

Week Two

At your two week check up you weighed 8 pounds 8 ounces. More than a pound over your birth weight. And the chunkiness begins.
Nightly routine this week was nurse at 8:00, 11:15, 2:45, 5:30, and 8:45. Nursing lasts about 30-45 minutes each time. I'm one tired momma.
Your lips look white after you are done nursing.
Everett loves holding you and sharing his cars with you. He doesn't like that you won't hold on to them though.
When you aren't in your rock n play Everett likes to put his cars, trucks, and stuffed animals in it.
When I hold you, you try to latch onto anything and everything with your mouth.
Your newborn clothes are already fitting tight but your 0-3 month clothes are way too big.
You still love sleeping on dad.
Nursing has still been going great but you choke a lot.
Daddy likes to brush your hair using his facial hair.
I forgot how soft newborns skin is. Especially when you are naked, I love to rub your back.
Everett came over after you just finished nursing and out of nowhere put all his weight on your back a little bit too aggressively and you gave the biggest burp.
I love playing with your soft hair while you nurse.
We are really hoping your eyes turn out blue just like daddy's.

Looking back on week two all of my notes are pretty much about nursing. Which means all you did for the entire week was nurse and sleep in our arms. It was perfect.

Nathan: Week One

Week one with our beautiful baby Nathan. He couldn't be a more perfect baby.

Your birth weight was 7 pounds 3 ounces. You weighed 6 pounds 12 ounces when we left the hospital two days later. Two days after that you were 7 pounds 1 ounce. At your one week checkup you were above birth weight at 7 pounds 9 ounces.
Nursing like a pro from the moment you were born. I honestly didn't believe nursing could be so wonderful.
Likes to hold your pacifier to your mouth with your hand.
We had your upper lip and under your tongue clipped so we wouldn't run into any nursing issues.
I love the little sounds you make. Sometimes you sound like a baby dinosaur or r2d2.
Started giving little smiles around day 3.
Everett loves you so much but is a little rough. Like picked your head up and dropped it on the ground rough. But at least he loves you still.
I can't get enough of your thick dark hair. Just like daddy.
Your back is covered with adorable dark peach fuzz.
You make the sweetest little cooing noises.
Daily routine. poop, eat, poop, eat, all day and night long. I seriously forgot how much a newborn poops.
You like to sleep in a nice warm spot. Mom and dad held you every night your first week and loved every second of it.
Just like your older brother you fall right to sleep in the car. And wake up at every red light.
You fall asleep sometimes while nursing and milk will spill out your mouth. It's adorable.
A couple times you coughed and milk spilled out your nose.
Every time mom holds you, you just want boob. No cuddles for mom. She's just for food. Dad on the other hand will put you right to sleep the second he picks you up.
You like to poop right as soon as I change your little bum and have gotten back into bed.
Your dark hair, blue eyes, and newborn smell. Enough said.
You pretty much had your days and nights figured out within the first week.
Sleeping arrangement. The first four nights mom or dad held you all night and just watched tv. The rest of the week you started sleeping in the rock n play.

To say we are obsessed is an understatement. I had forgotten how magical and perfect newborns are. And you are just the sweetest calm baby. It's amazing just how nervous I was to add another baby to the family. But it has been amazing.

Easter

Easter was so fun this year. Everett is at such a fun age now for celebrating Holidays. And having a newborn at Easter time is just so special. Easter is such a special Holiday and the prettiest time of year. Everett was really sweet during his egg hunt in the backyard. Before he put any eggs in his basket he made sure to give nana, dad, and mom one first. He has such a kind heart.
