Everett: 6 Months

Happy half birthday beautiful boy!
We can hardly call you a little baby anymore because you've gotten so big.
At your 6 month check up you were 2'4" in the 95% for height and 18 pounds in the 50% for weight. This round of shots was pretty rough. We had to give you some medicine later that night to make you feel better.
You are officially in all 9 month clothes and size 3 diapers. As well as 12 hour overnight diapers.
Having your mouth wiped is probably your least favorite thing ever.
You've started losing some hair on the back of your head and its getting long enough on top that we tried out a man bun for your 6 month pictures. You also got your first hair trim.
It is adorable that you have started crossing your feet all the time.
We started sitting you in your highchair this month and it is perfect for playing and eating.
New foods you tried this month were squash, green beans, pees, and rice cereal. Green beans are by far your favorite and pees are by far your least favorite. You also like to hold your bottle now.
You were waking up really early in the morning for almost two weeks and we realized it was because you were cold. We bought you a space heater for your room and since then you sleep until 7:00 or 8:00 every morning. At least until the time change. But you've managed to get back to sleeping until almost 7 every day.
You continue to sleep through the night which makes us so grateful. You will wake up once or twice in the night and talk to yourself for a while but will put yourself back to sleep.
Crying rarely happens but when it does you sometimes snort and it is so cute.
Sitting up on your own is still a challenge but with a little help you do really well.
You started rolling back to tummy this month only going one direction but then lost interest in doing it about a week later.
Your schedule stays about the same every day taking two naps that last 2 to 3 hours each.
You are asleep in your crib between 7:15 and 7:45 every night and still love bath time.
You have to be rocked to sleep for each nap, but prefer to put yourself to sleep at bedtime.
Getting you to really laugh is still a challenge. You laugh when mommy or daddy is laughing. But we can't fake laugh or else you don't think its funny. You also laugh when something falls and startles you.
I pulled out your binky's for fun one day and you actually sucked on them, mostly because you thought they were toys.
You think it is the strangest thing when we blow our nose.
Mom and dad have discovered two teeth starting to poke through on the bottom.
And last but not least this month you have discovered your manhood and can't get enough of it.

Everett you really are such a perfect baby. You rarely fuss and when you do once your need is met you are as happy as can be. You get bashful sometimes when you smile at us and we just love it. I can't believe the happiness you bring to our family. This first six months of your life has been the longest, shortest, hardest, and most amazing six months for us. We are so excited to continue watching you grow. Happy half birthday beautiful boy.

Atlanta Falcons

One of the ways we celebrated Stephen's birthday was by going to a Falcon's game. We went while his parents were in town and it was quite the experience. I have never been in one place that was so loud and the energy there was insane. A really fun and crazy kind of insane. Everett fell asleep thanks to his earmuffs and I was so thankful that he had them the whole time. Even though I still don't understand football really at all I had a great time and I know Stephen loved it. On the way to the game we walked through centennial park and it is a really nice park. We haven't done a lot in down town yet so it was fun to see some of it before and after the game.

Grandma and Grandpa Peirce visit

It has been a busy and fun few days. Grandma and Grandpa Peirce came to visit. It is always great having family come to see where we live. This visit was especially special because this is only the second time they have seen Everett. We packed a lot of adventures in the time they were here.
The most fun day was when we went to North Georgia. We started our road trip in our awesome Ford explorer rental driving through the small town of Dawsonville. Our first stop was at Amicalola Falls State Park where we saw the beautiful leaves and took a walk that led to the waterfall. The air was crisp and chilly but it was all so perfect. After the falls we fed Everett while Stephen cleaned dog poop off his shoes. Then we stopped by Burt's Pumpkin Farm. We had a fun time there and left with some pumpkin and apple bread and hot apple cider.
Next stop was lunch at Smoke and Gold BBQ in Dahlonega and it was delicious like always. After lunch we walked around the town stopping at the fudge shop and then getting a beautiful Christmas present from Stephen's mom that will be so fun to open and see again Christmas morning. To end the day we stopped at BJ Reese's apple orchard and bought everything apple (apple cider donuts, apple cider, apple pies, and good old apples). The apples in the orchard were mostly rotten by this time of year but Stephen and I went and picked a couple just to say that we did. It was a busy long day and Everett fell right to sleep when we got home.
That was just one of our fun days while Stephen's parents were here. We also celebrated Stephen's birthday by going to a Falcon's game at the Dome. Then Stephen and I had a special birthday dinner date night while the grandparents babysat. It was a great few days with lots of fun family time.

Happy Halloween Trunk or Treat

Everett's first Halloween was a blast! We based our costumes on my favorite movie Tangled. I have been looking forward to dressing up as Rapunzel, Flynn Rider and Pascal ever since I first saw the movie. Stephen and I borrowed our costumes and I made Everett's. I'd say for my first time making a costume it turned out pretty dang cute. We wore our costumes to the ward trunk or treat and it was really fun seeing everyone. I am so excited for next year when Everett will be walking and we can actually trunk or treat a little with him.
I was also looking forward to Halloween because exactly a year ago was when we announced being pregnant with Everett. So we of course had to take another picture one year later. It is crazy how big he is now. All in all Halloween was a definite success. Happy Halloween!
